PHOTOGRAPHER & CREATIVE DIRECTOR

With a foundation in fine arts and graphic design, Arline Malakian entered the world of fashion photography in 1987. Her career unfolded across Paris, Munich, Vienna and Toronto, where she is currently based and calls home. She works as an editorial and commercial photographer, as well as artistic, creative and fashion director.

A true image-maker, Malakian is recognized for distinction in her visual language - a practice marked by cultivated sensibility and disciplined command of light. Her intuitive grasp of style, fashion, design and visual expression, coupled with an inquisitive mind and natural affinity for people, fuse her creative direction with storytelling that extends beyond glossy aesthetics and trends.

Her artistic practice unfolds through distinct limited edition photographic series that explore fleeting moments and polarities - the ephemeral refracted into lasting subconscious impressions.

Her practice advances a rigorous investigation of feminine complexity, structured through compositional discipline and charged interiority. The female form frequently becomes a locus of layered exploration - psychological, aesthetic and cultural.

VISUAL BRAND DIRECTOR & MENTOR

In 2013, she founded AM Visual Communications (AMVC), a boutique agency, extending her visual philosophy and methodology into multidisciplinary environments for creative collaborations.

PROFESSOR

A frequent lecturer on the Art and Photography, Malakian served for a decade as Professor of Creativity and Personal Branding, contributing to the development of emerging authorship within academic frameworks.

Her work and books have been presented internationally and documented across print and broadcast media.
